About the Role
CCR Energy Ltd is seeking an exceptional and experienced leader to take on the role of Interim Managing Director. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of energy development within the Cardiff Capital Region, driving forward strategic priorities and leading a growing organisation at a pivotal time. Reporting to the Board of CCR Energy and the Chief Executive of CCR, you will provide strong, visible leadership to a team of 15–20 employees, ensuring the successful delivery of key objectives and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for CCR Energy Ltd
- Work closely with the Board and senior stakeholders to deliver organisational goals
- Oversee the final stages of the site demolition and partial remediation
- Deliver against the agreed business plan and finalise delivery of the masterplan
- Drive investment strategy, securing partnerships and funding to realise the site’s full potential
- Build and maintain high-level stakeholder relationships across public, private, and international sectors
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Ensure effective governance, financial management, and operational performance
About You
You will be a dynamic and credible leader with a strong track record at senior executive level.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in organisational leadership and strategic delivery, with a track record of working at C suite or executive board level in either the public or private sector.
- Significant experience of engaging with leading developers, investors, businesses and universities to secure financial and place value.
- Significant experience in leading and managing complex and multi-stakeholder programmes at every stage of the project lifecycle.
- Experience and knowledge of working at a senior level in the energy, infrastructure or development fields.
- You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with demonstrable evidence of continuous professional and personal development.
Additional Information
- This role involves agile working, including office, home, and field-based activity
- The primary office location is the former Aberthaw Power Station but regular travel to sites across South Wales is essential with some ad-hoc working at home
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
- Full and valid driving licence and use of own car would be an advantage
- This post is politically restricted under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989
