Established in 2023 and the brainchild of Cardiff Capital Region, we bring together the collective commitment and entrepreneurial spirit of a region that sparked the first industrial revolution – and is taking centre stage in the fourth industrial age.
Our Pledge
We’re a critical element of the Welsh Government and UK Government’s aim to achieve carbon net zero by 2050 – on a journey that will see us generating thousands of new jobs, creating significant social value, unlocking the potential of our supply chains, and attracting huge inward investment.
We believe that sustainable energy and ‘good growth’ go hand-in-hand – with CCR Energy acting as a catalyst for game-changing innovation, and a deliverer of sustained ROI for both our investors and the people of South East Wales.

CCR Energy is breaking boundaries in green energy, education, and tourism, to shape a South East Wales that is sustainable, innovative and prosperous.
Our journey began by acquiring the iconic decommissioned Aberthaw Power Station – and will see us champion low carbon technologies and advanced manufacturing in a region that is home to half the Welsh population and economic output … creating sustainability, generating wide-ranging job opportunities, and delivering social value, in Wales and beyond.
