Our journey

A catalyst to decarbonise South East Wales

The UK is on a mission to decarbonise its electricity grid by 2035 – eliminating the current 40% fossil fuel share, transforming entire industries, and moving the power supply of a whole country to a completely different model.

CCR Energy is empowering this journey. We are here to drive a ‘just transition’ that brings valuable jobs, development pathways and community regeneration – aligning with pioneering initiatives such as the South Wales Industrial Cluster and Celtic Freeport to position South East Wales as a global leader in sustainable energy and green industries.

Our journey has already started – at Aberthaw – through a Masterplan that will revolutionise energy and manufacturing in our region…

positioning South East Wales as a global leader in sustainability

Unrivalled Potential

This groundbreaking development could become a place for sustainable energy production such as tidal power or small modular reactors … a hub to create green hydrogen and zero carbon fuels … a home of giga factories and battery storage for advanced manufacturing … an energy research centre for continual innovation … and a biodiverse ecology park for everyone to enjoy.

We have the highest expectations – and we expect it to reshape a whole region.
