CCR Energy has launched the procurement process for a major Planning and Masterplanning commission linked to the redevelopment of the Aberthaw Power Station site in the Vale of Glamorgan.

We are seeking to appoint a Planning Consultant to lead an Outline Planning Application to the Vale of Glamorgan Council for the first-stage development of around 200 acres of land, predominantly located to the west of the River Thaw. The commission will culminate in the creation of a proposed Masterplan for the site’s initial phase of development.

The procurement process will be delivered in two stages:

  • Stage One: Interested organisations, or consortia, are first invited to participate in a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) covering planning, Masterplanning and biodiversity strategising services. Applicants will be required to complete a series of screening questions as part of this process.
  • Stage Two: Successful applicants will then be invited to tender for the services, with access provided to a dedicated data room, containing reports and supporting information, to assist in the preparation of bids.

The PQQ is live on the MyTenders portal, opening the next step in the regeneration ambitions for the former power station site. The submission deadline for the PQQ is on midday 8th June 2026.
