Aberthaw Academy is an online educational platform for schools, colleges and parents to use for Key Stage 2 and the preliminary stages of Key Stage 3.
Developed by CCR Energy in partnership with Academii, the platform brings to life the fascinating world of renewable energy and sustainability to life – both in the classroom and at home.
Based on the Aberthaw site, Aberthaw Academy demonstrates the vast amount of sustainable opportunities on site by promoting potential employment and education opportunities which pave the way for future generations.
What Pupils Will Discover
Through animated characters, real-world examples, and creative learning activities, pupils can:
- Explore how energy is generated from solar, tidal, wind, and nuclear sources
- Discover how the Aberthaw Power Station is being transformed into a low-carbon innovation hub
- Learn about green careers – from marine engineers to wind turbine technicians – and imagine their own future in a sustainable world
