The Erith team commence operations on February 19th 2024, with a projected completion date of March 2027 – this three-year timeline reflecting the extensive scope of the project, and the meticulous planning and execution required, for a transformation that will help shape the future of sustainable energy and advanced manufacturing, for Cardiff Capital Region and beyond.

Safety will be paramount during the demolition process – particularly around the removal of asbestos present within the power station – with Erith implementing stringent safety measures in compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
These rigorous and robust measures will ensure the safe removal of asbestos prior to demolition, safeguarding both workers and the surrounding community – with Erith emphasising: “We are honoured to have been entrusted with this significant project – and our team is fully prepared to execute the demolition works with the utmost professionalism, prioritising safety, environmental sustainability, and community engagement throughout the process.”
Transparently and proactively engaging with the community
With community and collaboration at the heart of CCR Energy’s vision, residents living near the site can expect both transparent and proactive communication from Erith.
The company has established real-time monitoring stations to track noise, dust, and vibration levels, enabling prompt action in the event of any concerns – as well as making significant enhancements to site security, including fence line improvements and CCTV, to build a safe and secure environment.
